PURL: Protect YouR Loneliness

PURL (protect your loneliness) is a brand I designed to satisfy people’s need for privacy in public space. Learning from field research and existing theories, I recognised three kinds of ‘loneliness’ including ‘solitude’ ‘intimacy’ and ‘anoymity’. I decided category ways for people distinguishing under different needs within daily objects like table cards or umbrellas.
‘Protection’ is always shown by circle, which is also the best shape to present positive emotion. Under visual experimentation, I finally set three different circles symboling ‘comfort zone for different lonelinesses’ and developed this changing circles into kaleidoscope as the main identity.
The brand essence is privacy and it sells relief and comfort to people. All my designs are innovative but also human to make PURL like a ‘creator’ and ‘caregiver’.
